Garbati’s outreach honours five travel journalists, others

Five Nigerian travel journalists have been honoured with grants in the first edition of the Fatima Garbati’s Tourism Outreach Grant. The journalists are: Justina Okpanku of Just Tours;  Obinna Emelike of BusineesDay; Franklin Ihejirika of Nigerian Frank News;  Olawale Olapade of the Nigerian Tribune, and Omololu Olumuyiwa  of Travelscope. The organisers explained that “the five journalists selected for the grant have attended the most Akwaaba Travel Market events.”

Also, the organisers have selected the following institute for financial grants: National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism NIHOTOUR, Universal School of Aviation USA, Kwara State University, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta FUNAAB, MAPOLY, Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna;  UNIABUJA, Aeroport, Aerovessel, Michael Okpara University, Umudike, Pathways , and LASUSTECH. These institute, the organisers say, were selected for the “visibility and impact of the graduates on the tourism scene in Nigeria .”

Other awardee selected include brands promoting youths’ tourism across the country. They are: Chrisage Travels Abuja; Wakalogue Jos; OU Travels Enugu; Omotosho Travels Ilorin; Nigeria Tourism Lovers NTL Lagos; Naija Explorers Lagos; Barry Jigawa Dutse, and a nominee from NATOP’s president. .
