The Executive Director of Africa Travel Commission and publisher of Africa Travel Times Lucky Onoriode George has bagged Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). He was among graduands that convocated at the main campus of the university in Nsukka yesterday, July 25.
George, for close to 30 years, has been a key travel writer involved in the efforts to develop and grow Nigerian and Africa tourism.
Over the years, he has built a reputation as a tourism expert, and media specialist.
He is well known as the publisher and editor of African Travel Times Magazine, a leading travel and tourism publication focused on West Africa and the wider continent.
He has been at the forefront in the revival of African Travel Commission (ATC) to promote intra-African tourism and position the continent globally.
He serves as the head of the award committee for African Travel Times which hosts annual awards recognizing excellence in the African hospitality and aviation sectors.
He was the head of BusinessDay Newspaper tourism desk in Nigeria for many years, and served as a television tourism presenter,. He once acted as Director of Media for the Abuja International Carnival.
