NANTA honours ANJET with award

The Association of Nigerian Journalists and Writers of Tourism (ANJET) has been honoured with a Special Recognition Award by the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) during its 50th anniversary Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The association said the award was in honour of ANJET’s ‘contribution to the growth and development of NANTA’.
While receiving the award, ANJET’S President, Mr. Okorie Uguru, expressed happiness for the recognition and also congratulated the travel agents on their golden jubilee anniversary. He said: “ANJET and NANTA have come long way. The relationship goes back to over 30 years. We are part of the NANTA family. Past and present ANJET leaders like Mr. Ogbeni Tope-Awe, Mr. Frank Meke, Mr. Wale Ojo-Lanre, Mr. Andrew Okungbowa, Mr. Ikechi Uko, Mr. Jimoh Babatunde and many others, over the years, have been very active in publicising and promoting the activities of NANTA.” He promised that ANJET will continue to play its role both to NANTA and the travel industry in Nigeria.
The three-day celebration included a visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja11, presentation of papers on the travel and tourism business, and climaxed with the election of new national executives for the body and a gala nite.
