AITEC-World appoints ex-FTAN president Onung as special advisor

The Africa International Tourism and Economic Council (AITEC–World) has appointed the immediate past President of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), Mr. Nkereuwem Onung, as its Special Advisor.

 In a letter of appointment sent to Mr. Onung, AITEC-World said the appointment was based on Onung’s ‘distinguished record as a visioner in tourism development, cultural heritage promotion, and socio-economic transformation across the world.’

The letter which was signed by the President of AITEC-World, Ambassador Dine Bouraima, continued: “Over the years, your groundbreaking initiatives have not only showcased Africa’s rich tourism potential to the world but have also empowered countless communities through innovative tourism-driven economic models. Your leadership, creativity, and commitment to Africa’s image on the global stage have set benchmarks for excellence in the sector.”

Spelling the role of the special advisor, the letter said Onung’s experience and  wealth of knowledge, and network will be invaluable in guiding the strategic direction and ensuring that the association’s programmes deliver transformative impact across the world. It further said: “We are confident that your service in this capacity will further inspire innovation, strengthen our advocacy for tourism-led economic growth, and contribute significantly to AITEC–World’s vision for a united, prosperous, and competitive tourism world.”
