ATPN President inducts DAWN Commission DG as honorary fellow

In a landmark gesture to recognize leadership excellence and cross-sector collaboration, Prince Adetunji Femi Fadina, President of the Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) has conferred the Honorary Fellow of ATPN on Mr. Seye Oyeleye, the Director General of the DAWN Commission.

The symbolic induction ceremony took place in Ibadan, the cultural capital of the Southwest, during a strategic session focused on the upcoming Legacy Project—a flagship cultural initiative designed to celebrate Nigeria’s Juju music heritage and elevate the region as a destination for global tourism during Detty December 2025.

Speaking during the conferment, Prince Fadina praised Mr. Oyeleye’s commitment to cultural preservation, regional development, and creative economy advancement:

“This honor is a reflection of Mr. Oyeleye’s unwavering dedication to positioning the Southwest as a beacon of cultural tourism and economic potential. His leadership at the DAWN Commission has been instrumental in enabling collaborative frameworks that blend policy, heritage, and innovation.”

The Honorary Fellow of ATPN title is the highest symbolic recognition granted only by the association’s President on behalf of NEC to individuals who have significantly impacted the growth of tourism, creativity, and regional collaboration in Nigeria.

In his response, Mr. Seye Oyeleye expressed deep appreciation for the honor and reaffirmed DAWN Commission’s commitment to sustainable cultural programming and legacy initiatives:
