La Campagne Tropicana holds maiden hills carnival with fanfare

While workers all over the world were commemorating May 1, Workers’ Day, La Campagne Tropicana Forest, Hills and Caves Resort, Ondo came alive in a burst of colour as it held an innovative first edition of its hills Carnival.
Like his trajectory over the years, the founder of La Campagne Tropicana Group, Otunba Wanle Akinboboye came up with the innovative project, Carnival on the Hill Top.
The picturesque Ita Nla Hills in Ondo town became scenes of music, dance and show of colours as the revellers, young and old men and women, in their bright, colourful costumes dance and march against the backdrop of rocks, trees and other plants.

It was a show that enthralled some dignitaries in and around Ondo town that came around to witness the epoch making event.

Akinboboye in carnival mood


Otunba Wanle Akinboboye led the carnival dance, supported by some council chairmen from Ondo town and a state house of assembly member, among other dignitaries. He said the Hills Carnival, the first of its type, is part of the efforts to deepen the tourism offering of Ondo town in his effort to build the town as a tourist destination.
He also said the town is also set for cave night clubbing billed to take place from today, Friday, May 2.

According to Akinboboye, these programmes are prelude to the second edition of Asun Carnival holding tomorrow, Saturday, May 3 at the Adeyemi College of Education Ondo’s premises.

Meanwhile, Akinboboye has said from next year, 2026, he intends bringing back the Mare Festival which he birthed some years ago during the regime of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko as Governor of Ondo State.
