The Governor of Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade this morning visited victims of the yesterday’s accident during the Bikers’ Parade in Calabar. The Bikers’ Parade is part of the activities of the annual Carnival Calabar. Most of the accident victims were taken to the  naval hospital and the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

An errant motorist had  sneaked into the bikers’ carnival procession and rammed in to fun seekers who had trooped out in large number to witness the annual showpiece which had been suspended for two years due to COVID 19. Seven persons were confirmed dead in the accident while close to 29 persons, including children, were injured.
