In a major boost to the newly created East-West Africa Amalgamation (EWA) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Wednesday 16th, 2026, the President of the National Black Chamber of Commerce (NBCC), USA, Mr. Charles Debow, announced a whooping fund investment of $10 Billion (USD) for the funding of businesses and trade in the continent.

Mr Charles Debow who made the announcement during his speech at the inauguration ceremony of EWA, inside the Abyssinia hall of the prestigious Ethiopia Skyline Hotel, Bole district in Addis Ababa, said that there’s a need to move away from conversation to actualizing the dream of EWA through laid out action plans and transactions. He said that the investment funding is to open investments and partnerships in the region, and all over Africa and the Caribbean between individuals, organisations and government

The President of the National Black Chamber of Commerce (NBCC), USA, Mr. Charles Debow also announced the immediate opportunity of connecting individuals, organisations and governments in East-West Africa (EWA), to two hundred (200), Chambers of Commerce networks that spreads across the United States of America and Canada.

The announcement of the $10 Billion (USD) funding opportunity saw a new dimension to a long standing conversation and calls for trade and Cooperation growth of East-West Africa region and Africa in general, in the last few years, by the Founder of Motherland Beckons and IPADA Initiatives, Otunba Dr. Chief Olawanle Akinboboye, through a creation of an online platform that has spread across the globe, putting together Africans and lovers of Africa in one platform. The platform has overtime celebrated over a hundred meetings with attendance of numerous diplomats, traditional rulers, top government officials in different countries around the world and business men and business women too.

The investment funding, while adding much flesh to laid down modules and operational standards of EWA, also lifted the spirits of not just those who attended the event physically in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, but also those in Diaspora, who joined the event from their different locations across the world.

Speaking later at the event, the Convener, Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye commended the investment effort of Mr. Charles Debow, President of NBCC and the organisation for the huge fund investment meant for projects in the Africa and the Caribbean, and used the opportunity to call out to individuals and organisations present at the event, to make a pitch for part of the announced fund investment. That it is going to be action immediately, “no more talk.”

Some of the projects for the announced funding, being on going projects in Wolaita zone, Wolaita Soddo precisely, where La Campagne Tropicana Agro ecotourism has taken off, with a huge investment in land areas and agreements already in place to collaborate in development work; the La Campagne Agro-Eco Heritage Resorts / Farms in Taraba State, Nigeria and the Caribbean and the about to take off projects between La Campagne and the Ekiti State Government in Ekiti State, Nigeria, also mentioned at the event by the Senator from Nigeria that representated Ekiti State at the event, Senator Babafemi Ojudu.

At the scheduled time during the long day event, individuals and representatives of organisations did come out to make their pitch, from which seven (7) were successful and led to the signing of seven MoUs at the event, with Convener of the event, Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye also making a huge dollar fund investment in three organisations at the event.

While the East-West Africa Amalgamation inauguration day, was not necessarily planned as an investment fund raising forum, perhaps the robust attendance, the hunger for such an occasion to take place and the fulfilment that it has finally taken place, attracted more investment funds commitment.

On her part, Ms. Darlene Evans, CEO of Canadian based D Evans Consulting, announced another hundreds of million US dollar fund investment in EWA. Her organisation also went ahead at the event to sign MoUs with individuals and organisations from Nigeria and Ghana and othe countries. The beneficiaries of the MoUs were from different countries. While the ‘pitch’ was from Nigeria, Ghana, Mali, Ethiopia, Uganda, the Republic of Guinea.

It would be recalled that the investment funding motivated was also partly activated, when In his speech earlier in the day, The National President of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce (NACCIMA), Engr. Jani Ibrahim re-echoed Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye’s position, of moving from ‘talk to action.’

However, the major Convener of EWA, Otunba Dr. Chief Olawanle Akinboboye, added that, beneficiaries of the EWA investment funds will be selected only from individuals, organisations and governments that are registered with EWA.

The forum also gave opportunity to individuals, organisations and governments to make presentations on trade and investment opportunities in their countries.

Mr. Samuel Tesema the Chief Administrator of Wolaita zone also presented investment opportunities available in Wolaita Soddo where La Campagne Tropicana Agro ecotourism has acquired a huge investment of land where agreements are already in place to collaborate in development work.

Ms. Nyakan June, Founder and Global CEO of Timeless Women of Wonder in Kenya, spoke of business and investment opportunities in Kenya.

Mr. Akwasi Agyeman who attended the event from Ghana, spoke of investment opportunities in Ghana.

Captain Adetutu a Director at foremost private security organisation in Africa, Corporate Guards Limited, spoke on Corporate Guards Private Security Franchise Opportunities. She also spoke on past achievements of the organisation such as the only firm that secured the visit of Marlon Jackson of The Jackson Five fame, along with 40 American Mayors to Africa and many other such feats.

Her Excellency Ambassador Rebecca Amuge Otengo, the Ambassador Ugandan Embassy spoke on the Investment and partnerships opportunities in Uganda.

His Excellency Ambassador Hadj Nounke Kaba, Ambassador, Republic of Guinea, spoke on investment and partnership opportunities in the Republic of Guinea.

The event ended with a commendation speech and goodwill message by Her Royal Majesty, Queen Aruk II, Obongawan Barrister Marie Ikpeme Erete, who flew into Addis Ababa from the United Kingdom for the event.no
