The Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) has officially inaugurated its FCT Abuja chapter in a grand ceremony at Blu Cubana, Abuja, marking a new dawn for tourism advocacy and development in the nation’s capital.
The historic event was presided over by the National President of association Prince Femi Fadina, who flew in from Lagos to officiate the ceremony.
In his inaugural speech, the President described the moment as “a bold declaration that tourism in Nigeria is alive, vibrant, and ready to flourish in the
corridors of power”

Speaking to a distinguished audience of stakeholders, industry practitioners, and invited guests, the ATPN President emphasized that Abuja was not just a location, but “the stage on which Nigeria tells her story.” He called on the new FCT Abuja chapter to see themselves as the face of tourism before policymakers, the voice before investors, and the strength of the association before the world.

The President further inspired the audience by likening the day’s rain showers to blessings rather than disruption:
“If the rain falls, don’t be troubled—it is not disruption, it is endorsement. These showers are not obstacles. They are blessings, washing the ground clean so that your chapter may grow strong, fruitful, and enduring.”
He assured members of his total commitment to the success of the new chapter, pledging the full support of the national body in empowering practitioners, attracting investors, and positioning Abuja as a tourism hub in West Africa.
The event was filled with energy and optimism as the Vice President, FCT, Abigail Olagbaye expressed heartfelt gratitude to the President for his presence and encouragement, calling the inauguration a turning point for tourism in Abuja
In her closing remarks, the newly elected Chairperson of ATPN FCT Chapter Juli Ofuyeta delivered a vote of thanks, appreciating the leadership of ATPN and pledging the chapter’s readiness to live up to its responsibility as a dynamic, innovative, and strategic arm of the association.
The inauguration at Blu Cubana sets the stage for tourism practitioners in Abuja to harness opportunities, influence policy, and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s tourism growth agenda.
With this development, the ATPN reaffirms its commitment to inclusiveness, excellence, and professionalism in driving the Nigerian tourism industry forward.
