Senator Melaye for some time has been sharing his holiday experience in Morocco. In his recent post, he made a 37-second video of a visit to a site in Morocco called Setti Fatma, outside Marrakesh. He showed a ‘natural fridge’ with a natural cooling system that keeps fruit juice displayed for sale cold.
Many took to his comment section to criticise him. Ngozi Nwaosa said: “Why are you showing the beauty of a place in Morocco. I advise you to bring something like that to Kogi State; it will beautify the state and give jobs to young people instead of showing us the country that people work hard to put in order. “ Another reaction came from one Sampson Temmy Arobani: “Oshiomhole said: ‘ My distinguished, we do travel abroad and see how the systems are, why can’t we replicate the same here in Nigeria…
“During your reign as senator, please how many recreational centres did you and your ‘distinguisher’ did for your states of origin and Nigeria as a whole?” Oshomah Aiyigbeni Itekpe said: “I am happy to see you travel to see how beautiful other countries look, trust you’ll learn and transform some part of your constituency.” Another, Nath Nathaniel, said: “Can you be proud of your village like this? Can things like this be found in your own village? You guys will have money, instead of you to develop your place and village, you will prefer to travel and spend that money in another man’s land that they used their resources to develop.”
