NATOP calls for collaboration with NIHOTOUR
Posted on: August 6, 2024, by : uguru okorieNational President of the Nigeria Association of Tour Operators (NATOP), Hajia Bolaji Mustapha has called for greater cooperation between NATOP and the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR). She made the call when she led the newly elected national executives of the association on a courtesy visit to the Director General of the institute, Alhaji Nura Sani Kangiwa in Abuja. Mustapha said the reason for the visit was to introduce the newly elected national executives, and also call for closer working relationship between her association and the institute. She said in the past, NIHOTOUR has trained the tour operators and called for a continuation in the relationship.
In his response, NIHOTOUR Director General congratulated Hajia Bolaji Mustapha and her executives on their election, and expressed confidence in future collaboration with association. He assured the executives of open door access to him, and promised his full support towards the growth and development of the association.
Kangiwa also emphasized the need for a tourism master plan as a road map for the growth of the tourism industry. He highlighted the fact that tour operators are crucial components of development for tourism in Nigeria. Also, the issue of registration and certification of individuals in the sector will bring more professionals into the industry.
