FTAN President commends Abitto ferry for contribution to tourism

President, Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), Mr. Nkereuwem Onung with the federation’s Vice President (South-South), Mrs. Justina Ovat  visited  Abitto Ferry Jetty in Calabar, Cross River State.

Onung said  the visit was to congratulate Mr. Richard Akinaka, the founder of Abitto ferry services  and the company for contributions to tourism development in Nigeria with Abitto building ferry boats and constructing jetties in Akwa Ibom and Cross River States.

Onung said the visit offers him  the opportunity to ascertain the safety standards on ground for the passengers and tourists that will be travelling from Abitto Ferry Jetty in Calabar to Nwaniba Timber Beach in Uyo.

Welcoming the team, General Manager, Abitto Ferry Jetty, Gloria Samuel said the ferry’s construction involved 90 per cent of locally manufactured products in Henshaw Town, Calabar with top-notch quality products that also meets international safety standards.

She stated further that the ferry was designed for passengers comfort, providing relaxing environment to travel between Cross River and Akwa Ibom States.

“With our well-structured and reliable time-table, passengers can plan their days with confidence, knowing that our ferries will run on time”, Gloria said.
