FTAN President commends Ade-John for visiting Badagry, La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort
Posted on: April 10, 2024, by : uguru okorieThe President of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), Mr Nkereuwem Onung, has commended the tourism Minister, Mrs Lola Ade-John, for her recent working tour of two monumental tourism destinations in Nigeria being, the historic town of Badagry, and the foremost luxury beach resort in Africa, the La Campagne Tropicana Beach at Ibeju-lekki, Lagos.
Nkereuwem Onung said that, the Minister’s decision to visit these two notable places, already gives an insight, into the Minister’s determination to work and partner with tourism industry players, to promote tourism in the country.
“These two places the Minister has visited, holds great repertoire of our tourism and mirrors our country’s tourism marketability, to the world. We are proud to see that her visit aimed to explore the potentials of Badagry as a key tourism destination, as she engaged stakeholders on possibilities of developing better strategies, for Badagry’s sustainable tourism development.
“The Minister’s visit to La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort, also shows a commitment on government’s intention to promote tourism as a catalyst for economic growth and cultural preservation,” said Nkereuwem Onung.
The FTAN President, thanked His Royal Majesty, the Oba of Badagry, other royal fathers in Badagry, the Chairman of the Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN), Lagos State Chapter, Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon; Chairman, House Committee on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Bonu Solomon, and other tourism loving people of Badagry for hosting the Minister.
He equally thanked tourism icon, Otunba Wanle Akinboboye, Founder of La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort, for his commitment to tourism growth in Africa and the duly hosting, of the Minister of Tourism, Mrs Lola Ade-John.
Nkereuwem Onung, called on all meaningful Nigerians, tourism practitioners and operators and essentially, the private sector to support and join hands with Mrs Lola Ade-John, to uplift the tourism industry in Nigeria.
“It is our believe and prayer, that the Honourable Minister, Mrs Lola Ade-John will seize this timely opportunity, to gift the tourism industry, a blueprint to aid and guide the tourism sector. A blueprint that will enable every player in the industry to tap in at different levels into the tourism sector, for the optimal success of tourism development in Nigeria,” he added.
