Osun State to attend, participate in Canada Drum Festival 2024
Posted on: February 19, 2024, by : uguru okorieThe Osun State government has pledged to be part of the second edition of the Pan-Afrika Drum Festival holding in Canada in July this year.
In a letter to the organizers of the festival early this month, signed by the state’s commissioner for Youths Affairs, Mr. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, the state government promised to attend the festival with a delegation, and to fully participate in the drum festival. He said: “I assure the Drum Online Media Inc. that they will always have the Ministry of Youths Affairs and Osun State government’s support, and if there is anything that the Ministry of Youths Affairs can do to assist you further, they should not hesitate to contact the ministry or Osun State government.
Also re-emphasizing the full support of the state for the festival, the Special Adviser to the state governor on tourism, Mr. Tope Anjorin said: “I am impressed by the significant milestones achieved at the maiden edition of the festival and the esteemed dignitaries who graced the occasion…
“The theme ‘Exploring the Dynamism of Africa Drums in Canadian Multiculturalism for Global Unity, Inclusivity, and Development” resonates deeply with the values of cultural appreciation and understanding. I acknowledge the symbiotic partnership proposed by your organization and I am committed to leveraging my office to inform the people of Osun State, both at home and in the Diaspora, about the prestigious event. I am confident that the collaboration between our offices will contribute to the success and global recognition of the Pan-Afrika Drum Festival.”
